Library services are provided jointly by the State Library of Western Australia and the Town of Bassendean. The service provides informational, educational, recreational and cultural materials in a variety of formats to all age groups. The Library and Information Service is part of the state-wide Public Lending Service, coordinated through the Library Board of Western Australia. Therefore, your local library is a link to all other service points within the State and through regular exchange of materials and inter-library loans, it provides access to over 2 million items of information.

Stock Suggestions and Donations
The development and maintenance of the collection is carried out according to a Collection Management Policy. Any suggestions for purchase will be considered.

The library accepts donations as long as they meet the criteria of the Collection Management Policy and their physical condition is good. The library reserves the right to sell donations that are not needed.
