Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct will help us to achieve a higher level of service, facilitating a mutual respect and a commitment to the responsible use of our fabulous facilities.

By definition, a ‘Code of Conduct’ is a standard policy upheld by all eSmart libraries, allowing both staff and library patrons to engage with digital services and technology in a responsible and safe manner.

BORROWING RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1. A Library card is required to borrow items; resources cannot be removed from the building unless they are registered as a loan.
  1. The Library needs to be notified if the card is lost or stolen as library patrons are responsible for any items borrowed prior to such notification.
  1. All items need to be returned on or before the due date in good condition as patrons may be required to pay the replacement cost for damaged or lost items. 
  1. The Library does not censor resources used, borrowed or accessed from the library.
  2. Parents/Guardians are responsible for their child’s resource selection and in the monitoring of library resource and Internet use.

LIBRARY COLLECTION GUIDELINES

The Library Collection Guidelines to provide guidance on the effective acquisition, management and decommissioning of the Town’s library stock/collection in a manner that supports the informational, educational, recreational, and cultural needs of the community.
