The Three Well Known Australians exhibition returns to Bassendean Memorial Library for the fourth time. This travelling exhibition has continuously toured within Australia since 1983, visiting Perth every 10 years. Artist Martin Shaw invites the public to guess who the three figures represent, and record their opinions in the yearbook. Along with the painting, the public has the opportunity to examine past yearbooks and view many letters written by prominent Australians, detailing their guesses and thoughts on the ‘Three Australians”. The exhibition will be here from Monday1 August - Friday 26 August 2022 during Library opening hours. Drop in, record your guess, and become part of a social commentary that reflects the changing face of Australia.
