Bassendean Memorial Library refresh to support improved services

Published on Wednesday, 28 January 2026 at 9:54:41 AM

Bassendean Memorial Library will soon undergo a series of minor upgrades as part of the Town’s planned Library and Customer Service integration project.

Works will take place from Monday 2 February through to late March 2026 and will focus on refreshing and reconfiguring key areas of the library to better support staff and customers.

Improvements will include updates to the foyer, library and customer service desks, and staff work areas, helping create a more functional and accessible service environment.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, some noise and minor impacts may be experienced during the works. Clear signage will be in place throughout the project, and friendly staff will be available to assist customers and answer questions.

To ensure works can be carried out safely and without disrupting the quiet environment expected in the library, Bassendean Memorial Library will be temporarily closed from Wednesday 4 February to Monday 9 February 2026. The library will reopen as normal after this period, with works continuing around regular operations until late March.

Groups with meeting room bookings during the closure period will be contacted directly to discuss alternative arrangements.

The Town will continue to share updates as the project progresses via the Town’s website and social media channels.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we make these improvements and look forward to welcoming visitors back to a refreshed library space.
