Literary Salon in the Library with Carol Millner

Past Event

You are invited to our next fabulous Literary Salon with West Australian poet, Carol Millner.

Carol will be discussing her recently published chapbook, Poems About the House

The book is a finessed selection of poems from a manuscript Carol had shortlisted in the inaugural Dorothy Hewett Award (University of Western Australia Press) 2015. One of the poems was published in The Poetry New Zealand Yearbook 2017 and other poems have been published in journals and anthologies in Western Australia,

Poems About the House is a Kiwi's response to the experience of moving to Perth from New Zealand during the latest mining boom. The poems are accessible, being both funny and observational.

In 2018 and 2019, Carol taught the second year unit Writing Poetry at Curtin University. Her  poetry has been reproduced here in Perth as pavement decals, on billboards for the Beaufort Street Festival, and on the big screen for Perth Poetry Festival.
