Declutter your house and Mind - Lunchtime Interlude

Published on Wednesday, 3 October 2018 at 12:33:00 PM

Does clutter affect the way you work and live? Clutter has a huge impact on our lives and the environment. Join Professional Organiser Sara Hall in this fun and interactive workshop and learn the key steps in decluttering and organising your home to turn an overwhelming task into an easily manageable project.

In decluttering we are not only throwing away things but associations. Decluttering can be seen as a form of distancing yourself from things that often have negative connotations: disorder, dirt, deviance, hoarding, and the kinds of people and bodies that are usually seen as in need of transformation. Our things tell us about ourselves. As accumulations of memories, souvenirs from another place or mementos from another time, they somehow reflect back on us. Who we are, have been, or would like to be, how others know us, and where we belong are all things that are tied up to our relationship with objects. In the shadows of this trend is the idea that you may be perceived as being too involved with your possessions.
