The Bassendean Memorial Public Library has recently registered for eSmart Libraries program, offered by Alannah & Madeline Foundation, in partnership with Telstra Foundation. eSmart Libraries is a cyber - safety framework designed to fully equip libraries, staff and library users with the skills and tools they need for smart, safe and responsible use of technology.

As part of our eSmart accreditation process, we are reviewing our current practices and policies, including an evaluation of the digital needs and skills of all library patrons and staff. Our brand new ‘Code of Conduct’ will help us achieve higher level of service, facilitating a mutual respect and a commitment in the responsible use of our fabulous facilities.

By definition, a ‘Code of Conduct’ is a standard policy upheld by all eSmart libraries to allow both staff and library patrons to engage with digital services and technology in a responsible and safe manner. Copies of ‘Code of  Conduct’ are available at the Library and via our Website at http://www.bassendean.wa.gov.au/library
