Decomposition Detectives’ brings out children’s curiosity and builds their knowledge. Science-based, children will use investigative skills to make fascinating discoveries about ongoing cycles of breakdown and new life in nature, including what’s really going on a worm farm! From there, we’ll make a foray into the Arts - with opportunities for creative expression in words, collage and colours, with a focus on fun!
- Looking at shapes and colours of natural materials.
- Identify organic and non-organic things.
- Tools for examining what’s going on!
- Bugs and microbes - so small we can’t see them.
- This activity will look at the size of worms, the world they live in and observe worms moving.
- Making worm shapes using threads, yarns, ribbons.
- Seeing worm shapes in everyday objects.
- Materials will be provided for crafting and creating. From compostable coffee cups, to coloured plastic waste through to using pencils and pastels with recycled paper
